Carving a New Path: Start Your Journey with IVTSI!

Apr 28, 2024.

Whether you want to learn a new skill or switch careers, IVTSI has your back! The growing popularity and need for butchers in countries like Canada, the UK, and Australia can be traced towards the rising demand for sustainability, high-quality food production and consumption and a renewed appreciation for the craftsmanship and expertise of skilled artisans. Thus, as the saying goes, strike the iron while it's hot.

For those who are planning to change the trajectory of their lives, switching careers as a professional butcher is an incredible option. Although it may seem daunting at a glance, it is both possible and worth it. However, it is essential to recognize that becoming a highly skilled professional butcher requires hands-on training and experience.

IVTSI's training programs aim to offer outstanding skills in various butchery disciplines, enabling students to begin with the basics and obtain significant employment opportunities in the meat industry, locally or globally.

"Maganda diyan sa Nuvali, One to Sawa ang Baboy Palagi"

Our partnership with S&R is one of the driving factors that propel us over other butchery training schools. The practice and mastery each student obtains by training in our world-class industrial standard facilities mold them into competent and competitive individuals ready to face the challenges this discipline may offer. Currently, we have 13 Retail Meat Cutting training sites all over the Philippines. This includes S&R Imus, S&R Nuvali, S&R New Manila, S&R Marikina, S&R Cebu, S&R Dau, S&R Davao, S&R Iloilo, S&R Naga, S&R Kawit – Evo City, S&R Naga, and S&R San Fernando. We govern each training site and ensure that our standards of quality and excellence are upheld to the highest degree. We would like to highlight one of our less popular branches for this Month's article: S&R Nuvali.

S&R Nuvali is one of our pioneers in adapting our system. It is one of the cardinal locations where we developed and honed our craft. Due to how this club is stationed, the meat market is bustling. Being located within the heart of Sta. Rosa Laguna, the area acts as a captured market for various consumers. This then directly leads to a high demand for meat. Learners can practice to their heart's desire and hone their skills with all the carcasses provided. Based on our previous experiences, students tend to love this. They mention the beauty of training there. One of our previous students even mentioned, "Maganda diyan sa Nuvali, one to sawa palagi".

It is essential to note that we do not see this particular training site as better than our other training sites. Our training sites are treated with the same passion and love and are shared equally as if they were siblings. Nothing is greater than the other, but if you want more opportunities to practice, our training site in S&R Nuvali has its doors open!

Success Backed by Our Alumni

Feb 28, 2024.

What is success? Success is one of those words that are hard consistently hard to define. One can argue that success is relative due to the many variations in definitions. Thus, a person is said to be successful by their own definition of success. Here at IVTSI, no matter what your definition of success is, our trainers and staff members will help and guide you towards finding your own standards of success.

As mentioned, IVTSI pushes students towards a path of success defined by their own terms. I want to highlight one of our many flourishing alumni for March's article. Lester Esteban was a safety officer before he entered IVTSI. Like many Filipinos, he aspires to help his family and work abroad. Lester enrolled for IVTSI's Meat Cutting-Swine Course and is part of  S&R New Manila's Feb 6, 2023 batch. Now, he works as a grade 2 butcher in England under the globally known food-producing giant Cranswick.

Training schools such as IVTSI are pivotal in guiding the Filipino people to reach their dreams. However, here at IVTSI, we try our best to teach our students to achieve success based on their standards and ideals.

2023, 2024 and the Future!

Article by Bautista, Justin
January 30, 2024.

As the first month of 2024 approaches, our team celebrates the successes that could be drawn from the momentum gained by one of our most successful years to date: 2023. We are truly humbled by all the love and support that our community has brought. We will continue striving for quality education that guides every student closer to their aspirations. With this in mind, there are several things to look forward to for this year and the succeeding ones.

A significant number of students have reached their respective dreams relating to butchery. The introduction of our cattle courses has opened other opportunities for students who want to specialize in learning the art and science of butchering cattle. This method of branching out will be explored and studied by the school. Thus opening the idea of expanding into other disciplines besides butchery. Other TESDA-affiliated/accredited courses include possible forklift operations, welding, and care-giving.

Again, on behalf of the IVTSI team, we would like to thank all of you for an incredibly successful 2023 and a fantastic start to 2024. We will continue to provide quality education that aims and serves to uphold the Filipino people. Tatak IVTSI!

Butchery pertains to the science and art of preparing meat for sale or distribution. This craft has various sub-disciplines or specializations, such as Meat Cutting, Slaughtering Operations, and Food Processing. IVTSI has its roots deep in Slaughtering Operations, particularly with swine. However, due to our diligent efforts to improve the Filipino workforce, we partnered with RSRH Livestock Corporation to introduce several new cattle courses, formally added at the start of this year.

One of the questions we primarily get revolves around potential students asking which course among our four offered courses (Meat Cutting-Swine, Industrial Beef Meat Cutting, Slaughtering Operations-Swine, and Slaughtering Operations Cattle) is the best or the best program to work overseas with. In reality, all of the courses are viable for overseas employment. Thus, the best program is the course that you are passionate about.

Several students like Cha Julian and Don Manastalas have found their hearts in our cattle-related Slaughtering Operations program. They have recently worked in Melbourne, Australia, while Cornelio Barrientos works in Queenstown, New Zealand. Another alumnus of ours, Bernardo Bautista, is currently inching closer towards his dream of working in Australia. As previously mentioned, all of them are products of our Bulacan training site and were guided by their Slaughtering Operations Cattle instructor, Sir Eufemio Diocton, and academic director, Sir Romel Rapusas.

Through the years, IVTSI has produced superb international students ready for overseas employment. All of them may have different backgrounds, but one thing is common: they persevered to attain their dreams by enrolling in any of our four programs. You, too, could inch closer to your dreams of working abroad. Reach the Sky with IVTSI!

One of our goals is to spread our high-quality butchery programs to upskill the Filipino workforce. Our programs are Retail Meat Cutting, Slaughtering Operations Swine, Industrial Beef Meat Cutting, and Slaughtering Operations Cattle. Thanks to our partners, S&R, RSRH, Imus City Slaughterhouse, and CCM, we are able to expand and hold training in all three major Philippine islands. Our training sites span nine regions: Bicol, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Central Visayas, Davao, Ilocos, NCR, Northern Mindanao, and Western Visayas. Among these nine regions, some of them even have multiple S&R clubs and multiple training sites for our Retail Meat Cutting Swine Course.

Newly Opened S&R Locations

Our most recent S&R club transition is at S&R BGC and Calasiao. Club transitioning refers to aiding our partners by applying our excellent butchery practices, which adhere to international standards. These practices and techniques are taught, shown, and exposed to students. These transitioned S&R clubs can become future training sites, enforcing and apprising the Filipino people about our excellent butchery courses and further solidifying our goal to educate aspiring Filipino butchers.

Currently, we are in the process of transitioning our S&R Aseana club in Pasay City, adding another city to our already stellar line-up and marking 100% outright meat operations for S&R. Will your city contain the next S&R club to be transitioned and trained in? Stay tuned to find out more!

Start Your Next Chapter with Us!

Start your Next Chapter With us! I've interviewed one of our alumni for this month's blog post. Her name is Joyce Ann Ronio, and she is from our 2021 Alagang Ferrer Batch! Her story is simply inspiring. As a single mother of two, she defied all odds and achieved her dreams as a lady butcher abroad. She is stationed as an Industrial Meat Butcher in Manitoba, Canada.

Besides quality education, IVTSI has provided students with countless memorable experiences that mold and hone them. For Joyce, one of her unforgettable IVTSI moments involve the learnings that mentors Sir Roy, Sir Romel, Sir Doods, and Sir Jeff taught, which extend beyond butchery.

Another of her favorite IVTSI experiences revolves around the confidence she gained with knife handling. As the days passed, she grew confident in what she did. She learned to apply this mindset of believing that you can do it, you will do it, and you will overcome it. She reminds herself that everything she does is for her kids and family.

Her message for aspiring butchers who want to work overseas is always to be hopeful, put into practice everything you have learned, and remember to thank the Lord.

I Choose IVTSI, Butcher Ako, may Yabang Ako.

The IVTSI Intranational Experience: We Transcend Borders

image_2023-08-24_220845000.png
Article by Bautista, Justin
August 24, 2023.

We transcend borders! One of our primary goals involves spreading our quality education around the Philippines. This is possible via our partnership with S&R. Their industry-standard training meat-cutting facility equips our students to work in a world-class environment. This also aids our students for future employers and their probable local or overseas practices.

Since the start of 2023, Our Meat Cutting Swine Courses has had eight new training/expansion sites aside from our constant roster of four. This includes S&R Cebu, S&R Dau, S&R Davao, S&R Iloilo, S&R Naga, S&R Kawit – Evo City, S&R Naga, and S&R San Fernando. Our newly graduated S&R Naga batch signifies a momentous landmark towards reaching our goal to upskill the Filipino people and expand our quality education throughout the different regions in the Philippines. Our July S&R Naga batch is the very first TESDA registered Meat Cutting Class held in Naga, moreover the entire Region 5.

It’s a fantastic feeling to reflect on our journey, starting as a humble TESDA Slaughtering Operations Swine Training School and Expanding to other types of butchery. After all these years, a lot may have changed, but our endgame to guide and prepare our students for a bright future ahead of them remains intact. Have any other provinces or cities in mind that have an S&R Club? We might consider it soon. Stay tuned for future announcements.
